An "Abishelam" is performed to Sri Lalitha Thiripurasunthari.

The tenth day of "Navarathri" is called "Vijayathasami". "Navarathri" ends with "Vijayathasami" It's a tradition to start learning on this auspicious day. Children are taught to write by priests.

A special pooja was held at Sri Veera Maha Pathirakaali Amman temple in Rajagiriya on "Vijayathasami" day to bless the devotees. Hindus begin new ventures on this day
